Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India, is not far behind compared to other states in the continuous transformation of urban transport. The business capital of Madhya Pradesh, Indore, is witnessing significant changes in urban transport, and it is in the top 100 smart cities of India. In the City of Devi Ahilyabai, there used to be limited means of transportation before independence for the people. In that period, the commuters had to either travel on foot or depend on bullock carts, horse carts, and mule carts to go from one place to another. Over time, there have been changes in the field of urban transport. Talking about the urban transport of Indore city, transportation is now moving from the era of bullock carts, horse carts, horse carriages, cycle-rickshaws, autos and tempos to taxis, BRTS buses and metro rail service. Metro rail service is going to start soon in Indore. With the commencement of this service, the people of Indore and nearby areas will get the facility of economical, comfortable and safe urban transport.
